With Tazorac being one of the newer acne treatment products, we will continue to learn about this product as time goes on. It is now only available by prescription, so the first thing you should do is speak with your doctor about this. You can get Tazorac in either gel or a cream form. This would just be a preference as they are the exact same product concentration.
The active ingredient Tazarotene. This converts to a new tazarotenic acid which is what helps the acne problem areas. There have been some studies though that show it takes around 4 weeks to really see a difference in your skin.
Tazorac Pro’s
There is a limited amount of information yet about what the Tazarotenic Acid really does. With more clinical trials being done, we will be able to see if this is the end all to acne treatment products.
Tazorac Con’s
With the fact that we do not know as much about this product as others, we do not have as much information. We do know that you have to have a prescription to try this out, so if you are uncomfortable about speaking with your doctor about your acne, than this will not work for you. Also with the claim that it does take around 4 weeks to see results, that is a lot of time to wait to know if a product really works. There have been signs of dry and flaky skin so a moisturizer might also have to be used to counteract this side effect.
Tazorac Final Thoughts
I find it hard to really try something that not a lot of other people have tried, especially on your largest organ, your skin. I would personally wait until more information is found on this and the side effects it might have. I do like though that it is by prescription only. I think its important to include your doctor in important things like putting an ointment on your skin. I would speak with your doctor first and see if they might have some additional information that we cannot find.
